Team

Meet Alan! 👋
Alan joined the Shed to get out of the house for a few hours, meet new people, have a chat and a laugh, and help out with the Shed’s social media.
The Shed is all about bringing people together, making new connections and creating a friendly place where everyone can feel welcome. 😊
We’re glad to have Alan as part of the team!
Meet Dave Brown, one of the people helping bring Steve’s Man Shed to life! 👏
Dave first became involved around a year ago after hearing about the Shed. With his experience in health and safety and fire safety, he was invited to get involved — and he hasn’t looked back!
Since then, Dave has played an important role in helping get the Shed up and running. He’s now taking on fundraising, securing sponsorship for the team’s polo shirts, sweatshirts and fleeces, and helping establish the Shed’s Facebook page.
But for Dave, it’s about much more than woodworking. Since retiring, the Shed has given him a reason to get out of the house, meet fantastic people and build lasting friendships.
Dave is passionate about creating a welcoming community focused on woodworking, supporting mental health and bringing people together. The Shed welcomes women who would like to visit, try woodworking or have a chat about mental health, too.
❤️ Every penny raised goes back into the charity to help buy equipment and support the Shed’s future.
A huge thank you to Dave and everyone who has helped make this project possible.
Meet Paul Wright, our Chairman and one of the directors of the Shed! 👏
Paul is a retired bench joiner and carpenter who wants to share the skills he has built up over the years with other members and the wider Tamworth community.
🔨 With a wealth of practical experience, Paul is passionate about passing on his knowledge, helping others learn new skills and making the Shed a place where people can come together.
We’re lucky to have Paul’s experience, knowledge and enthusiasm as part of the team!
Meet Mick, one of our directors and Company Secretary! 👏
Mick joined the Shed because he wanted to help others and give back by sharing the skills and knowledge he gained throughout his career.
⚙️ Mick began his working life as a mechanical engineer before moving into teaching woodwork and metalwork. He taught in Tamworth for 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed helping pupils develop their practical skills.
Today, Mick wants to continue doing what he loves by helping others learn and grow in a safe, friendly and welcoming workshop environment. 🔨
We’re delighted to have Mick’s experience and dedication supporting the Shed and its members!
Meet Bernard, The Treasurer of Steves Man Shed! 👋
Bernard joined the Men’s Shed to help with its construction and share his electrical and mechanical knowledge with the team ⚡🔧
He also wanted to meet new people, lend a helping hand and learn something new along the way — including developing his woodworking skills!
And of course, no visit to the Shed would be complete without a good cup of tea! ☕
We’re delighted to have Bernard as part of the Shed community, bringing his experience, enthusiasm and willingness to help.
